Jira Components for Test Cases

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To link Jira Components to your Test Cases you will need to first confirm the following. Does your Jira space support Components?

Not all Jira spaces have Components feature enabled. Some Jira spaces may disable this option so it’s important you verify if your space has enabled Components. This is normally found under: Jira > Spaces > Space settings > Features > Components

Once you’ve confirmed that Jira Components are enabled, you can verify the corresponding Vansah setting. This option is enabled by default in Vansah. Follow the steps below to confirm it is active or disable it if your configuration requires Components to be turned off.

How to enable or disable Jira Components for Vansah

1. Start by accessing Vansah from your Jira space

2. Open Vansah project (space) settings using the gear icon

3. Select the Project menu option

4. Navigate to Miscellaneous menu option from the left hand side

5. Make sure the Components option is enabled, or deselect it if you prefer not to display Components within your Test Cases

6. Now go back to Vansah and Open any Test Case within the space where Components setting was updated.

7. If Components has been enabled you will now see the Jira Component selection option displayed.

8. Search through your available Jira Components and select one or many to link it to the Test Case. Linking Components helps you to filter, search, and report on Test Cases associated with that Component
