Test Plan Timeline View

Visualize, plan, and manage your testing schedule with the new Test Plan Timeline View.

The Test Plan Timeline View is currently under development and is planned for release in mid to late July 2026.

This release will introduce a new visual way to plan and manage test plans, making it easier to coordinate testing activities across sprints, iterations, and releases.

Note: Release dates are subject to change as we complete testing and quality assurance. Follow our release notes and What's New announcements for the latest updates and availability.

The Test Plan Timeline View provides a visual representation of your test plans, making it easier to understand how testing activities are scheduled across sprints, releases, and milestones. Instead of viewing test plans in a traditional list, you can switch to an interactive timeline to see the bigger picture, helping you coordinate testing efforts and track progress more effectively.

Benefits

The Timeline View helps QA teams:

  • Plan testing across multiple sprints and releases.

  • Visualize overlapping test plans and execution windows.

  • Track test plan iterations in chronological order.

  • Improve release planning and coordination.

  • Gain a high-level overview of testing schedules.

  • Quickly identify upcoming and active test plans.

Accessing the Timeline View

  1. Open Test Plans in Vansah.

  2. Navigate to your project or workspace.

  3. Select the Timeline tab.

  4. Your test plans will be displayed on an interactive timeline.

To return to the traditional view, simply select the List tab.

Switching Between Views

The Test Plan page offers two ways to view your plans:

  • List View – A traditional table for searching, filtering, and managing test plans.

  • Timeline View – A visual schedule showing when test plans occur and how they relate over time.

You can switch between these views at any time without affecting your data.

Using the Timeline

The Timeline View displays test plans based on their scheduled dates, allowing you to quickly understand your testing roadmap.

The timeline includes:

  • Date-based navigation

  • Horizontal scrolling across time periods

  • Clearly displayed test plan durations

  • Multiple plans displayed together for easy comparison

This provides a simple way to see current, upcoming, and completed testing activities.

Managing Test Plans

You can interact with test plans directly from the Timeline View without returning to the list.

From the timeline, you can:

  • Open a test plan.

  • View test plan details.

  • Perform supported test plan actions.

  • Navigate to related information.

This reduces unnecessary navigation and keeps your planning workflow focused.

Viewing Test Plan Iterations

Each test plan can be expanded directly within the timeline to display its iterations.

Expanding a test plan provides greater visibility into:

  • Individual testing iterations

  • Execution cycles

  • Overall testing progress

This allows you to understand how execution is progressing without leaving the timeline.
