Creating an Advanced Test Plan

Advanced Test Plans in Vansah allows you to incorporate multiple requirements into a single, comprehensive Test Plan. These requirements consist of Jira Issues and Test Folders from any Jira project.

You can link Jira Issues to an Advanced Test Plan using one of the following methods:

  1. Selecting the Issue Key by searching for it

  2. Selecting a Jira Filter

  3. Using Jira's JQL (Jira Query Language)

To create an Advanced Test Plan in Vansah follow the steps below:

  1. Go to your Jira project

  2. Select Vansah from the left-hand side

  3. From the Vansah Board, click on the “Test Plans” option.

  4. Click on the “Create” button

    and choose “Advanced Test Plan” from the options provided.

  5. Give your Test Plan a name

    • Provide a name for your Test Plan that clearly identifies its purpose.

  6. Add your requirements

    • Choose the Jira issues you want to include in the Test Plan by using either a list, filter, or JQL. You can also include Test Folders by selecting any number of folders to bring in the available Test Cases from each folder.

  7. Select Create to finalize and manage your Advanced Test Plan.

  8. Open your new Advanced Test Plan

    • Your Advanced Test Plan will be visible from the Test Plan tab in your Vansah board.

    • It can be distinguished from other standard test plans by the Test Tube-like image in the requirements column, along with the number of requirements (Jira issues)

  9. Requirements can be re-positioned based on Test Execution order.

  10. Select the requirement and expand Test Cases which need to be executed within the Plan.
