Execute a Test Case – Overview

Learn how to execute and manage Test Cases in Vansah

Vansah lets you execute Test Cases from multiple places in Jira, depending on how you work (from a Test Case, a Work Item, a Test Folder, or a Test Plan).

Before you begin

  • You need access to the Jira Space where Vansah is enabled.

  • You need permission to view the Test Case and create Test Results (based on your space permissions).

Ways to Execute a Test Case

Choose the option that matches your workflow:

  1. From the Test Case screen
    • Best when you’re reviewing one Test Case in detail

  2. From a Jira Work Item
    • Best when you want to validate a requirement, story, or bug and keep traceability tight

  3. From a Test Folder
    • Best for running a set of related Test Cases

  4. From a Test Plan (planned tests)
    • Best for structured Test Cycles and regression runs

  5. Quick Test (ad-hoc execution)
    • Best for quick verification across one or more Test Cases

What happens when you execute

When you run a Test Case, Vansah creates a Test Run and records:

  • Result status (for example: Pass/Fail)

  • Evidence (attachments/screenshots)

  • Comments

  • Environment/version/sprint (if configured)
