In Vansah, the Test Case Assignee feature allows you to designate the individual responsible for executing a Test Case based on the requirement it is linked to.
For example, Test Case KAN-C351 in your project may be assigned to different testers across multiple requirements.
Let’s explore how this works with a few examples below.
Managing a Test Case Assignee from the Design view
When a Test Case is opened from a Linked requirement the Assignee field will be displayed allowing you to manage the Assignee based on the linked requirement. In this example we will refer to a Test Case opened from the linked Jira work item (requirement).
- Go to a Jira work item
- Open the Test Case
- Go to the Assignee column
- To edit Assignee, click on the Assignee icon to see the drop down options.
- Enter the name of the user to Assign the Test Case and select from the displayed options.
- To Unassign click the Assignee field and select Unassigned
Note: You can also view/manage the Test Case assignee from the grid view without opening the Test Case.
Managing a Test Case Assignee from a Test Plan:
- Open the Test Plan which the Test Case is linked to
- Go to the Assignee column in the Test Grid
- Click on the Assignee icon to see the drop down options
- Enter the name of the user to Assign the Test Case and select from the displayed options
- To Unassign click the Assignee field and select Unassigned
