When a Jira Issue is moved to a new project
Updated over 3 months ago

Moving a Jira issue to a new project allows for better organization and alignment of issues with specific projects and teams. It ensures that all relevant information and history associated with the issue are carried over, while adapting to the workflows and requirements of the new project.

If you are moving a Jira Issue to a new project Vansah will automatically update all Linked Test Cases, Test Runs and Planned Tests to point to the new Jira Issue Key.

It is important to note that your Test Cases will remain in the previous Jira project however they will automatically be updated to point to the new Jira Issue Key in the new project which the Issue was moved to.

To move a Jira Issue to a new project

1.View the issue that you wish to move.

2.Select More > Move.

3. The first page of the Move issue wizard is displayed. Complete the steps required.

4. The confirmation page will display with all of your changes.

5. Your issue will be moved to the target project and displayed on screen.

6. Once your Issue can be viewed after moving to the target project you will be able to view Vansah Test Management within the Issue and all your Test Cases, Test Runs and Planned Tests will appear as they used to in the previous project.
