Understanding Reports in Vansah Test Management for Jira

Introduction

Vansah Reports are available within the Vansah Board for each Jira project. These reports provide valuable insights into your testing process, helping you track progress, identify bottlenecks, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Report Categories

More categories will be added over time however for now, Vansah offers four main categories of reports:

  1. Test Summary: Provides an overview of your testing efforts.

  2. Test Execution: Detailed information about test case execution.

  3. Burnup Execution: Tracks the progress of your test execution over time.

  4. Traceability: Offers high-level and detailed end-to-end traceability reports, covering requirements coverage along with case priority, execution, and defect distribution.

Accessing Reports

To access Vansah Reports:

  1. Navigate to your Jira project.

  2. Go to the Vansah Board.

  3. Click on the "Reports" tab in the top menu.

In the Reports section, you'll find two main areas:

  • My saved reports

  • Shared reports

Key Features

  • Edit input criteria for reports

  • Export reports to Excel (PDF/Word coming soon)

  • Save and share reports

  • Refresh reports to see dynamic data without re-entering input criteria

Generating a Report

  1. Click on the "Reports" option in the top bar menu from the Jira Vansah project board.

  2. Click on the chevron icon for the desired report.

  3. In the modal window, enter the required details.

  4. (Optional) Click "Preview" to see the report data before saving.

  5. Click "Save" to generate and display the report.

Editing Reports

  1. On the generated report page, click the "Edit" button at the top.

  2. Make your changes in the report configuration screen.

  3. Click "Update" to apply the changes.

Exporting Reports

On the generated report page, click the "Export" option under the ellipsis (โ‹ฏ) button.

Refreshing Reports

To update the report with the latest data, click the "Refresh" button on the generated report page.

Sharing Reports

  1. On the My saved report page, click the "Share" option under the more vertical button.

  2. This will make the report available in the "Shared reports" section for your project team to view.

By leveraging these powerful reporting features, you can gain valuable insights into your testing process and make data-driven decisions to improve your software quality assurance efforts.
