Linking Test Cases to a Test Case in Vansah
Updated over 3 months ago

Linking Test Cases to a Test Case in Vansah Test Management for Jira offers several benefits:

  1. Maintaining Test Case Relationships: By linking Test Cases to a main Test Case or Test Scenario, testers can easily maintain the relationships between different Test Cases. This ensures that all related Test Cases are organized and accessible in one place.

  2. Creating Test Scenarios: Test Scenarios are a collection of related Test Cases that are executed together to validate a specific functionality or feature. Linking Test Cases to Test Scenarios allows testers to create and manage these scenarios effectively.

  3. Efficient Test Coverage: Linking Test Cases to Test Scenarios helps in ensuring comprehensive test coverage by organizing related Test Cases under specific scenarios.

Step-by-Step Process to Link Test Cases:

1. Navigate to Test Case that you want to link Test Cases

2. Open the Test Case and look for the option to Link Test Cases (on the right hand side)

3. Choose the appropriate Test Case/s or create a new one if needed. You can also choose to link Test Cases from a foreign project by clicking on the project icon.

4. Select Link to save the changes and update the association

A success message will be displayed in the top right confirming Test Cases have been Linked

5. Now you can see the Test Cases linked. The Link is bi-directional, therefore can open either Test Case to see the linked relationship.

To unlink Test Case simply click the โ€˜xโ€™ for the relevant Test Case. This will remove the Link between the two Test Cases.

A success message will be displayed in the top right confirming the action
