You can control access to Vansah features by assigning Jira groups to Vansah permissions.
Once you assign a Jira group to a Vansah permission, only users in those groups can use that feature in the selected Jira space.
Before you begin
You must be a Jira space admin to manage permissions.
Steps to open Vansah permissions
Open Vansah in your Jira space.
Select Settings (gear icon).
Under Vansah Settings, select Space.
Select Permissions.
Steps to assign Jira groups to a Vansah permission
In the Permissions list, find the feature you want to control (for example, Create/Edit Test Cases).
In the Jira Group column, select one or more groups.
Important
If you assign a group, it overrides the default Jira permission check for that feature.
Users not in the selected group(s) will not be able to use that feature.
What happens if no Jira group is selected
If you don’t assign any groups to a permission, Vansah falls back to the default Jira permissions required for that function.
Jira limitation (Manage Space Settings)
To manage Vansah space settings, users must have Jira’s Administer Space permission.
Steps to save a Master Permissions template
Use a master template to apply the same permission setup to new Jira spaces.
Open Vansah permissions for any Jira space.
Configure the groups for each permission.
Select More options (three dots).
Select Update Master Permissions.
Load the Master Permissions template
Open Vansah permissions for a Jira space.
Select More options (three dots).
Select Load Master Permissions.
Note
Loading the master template overwrites the current space’s permission settings.
Common errors
“You do not have the required permission”
Ask your Jira admin to:
Add you to the Jira group that has access to the required Vansah feature, or
Grant you access to the required Vansah page.
"You do not have the correct permissions to view the page”
Make sure you are added to the Jira space under Space settings → People, with an appropriate role.
