Getting Started with Vansah Intelligence (AI) Defect Generator

Updated this week

The Vansah Intelligence Defect Generator leverages AI to analyze your test results, documentation, or error logs and automatically generate detailed defect reports in Jira. By converting raw Test Run data captured from executing a Test Case in Vansah Test Management For Jira into structured Jira defects, this feature reduces manual effort, ensures consistency, and accelerates defect triage and resolution.

Note: For detailed steps on activation, see the Activate Vansah Intelligence article.

How It Works

  1. Navigate to Test Run Executions
Select the Test Execution where the failure occurred.

  2. Review Execution Steps
Expand the test steps to see the Actual Result.

  3. Provide Context (Optional)
Attach logs, screenshots, or notes to give AI additional context for generating the defect.

  4. Click on Bug/Defect icon below the Actual Result

  5. Select Create a defect with AI

  6. AI Analysis
Vansah Intelligence analyzes the failed step(s) and context to propose a structured defect, including:

    • Defect summary

    • Description and steps to reproduce

    • Severity, priority, and environment (where applicable)

  7. Review and Select
Review the AI-suggested defect details in Jira. You can edit or refine the content before proceeding.

  8. Generate Jira Defect
Click Create to automatically generate a Jira Defect linked to the failed Test Execution.

Outcome

The generated defects are available immediately in Jira for your project team to manage. Each defect includes structured details, links to related test executions, and can be updated or reassigned through your standard Jira workflows.
